How to convert QIF to CSV

  1. Drop your .qif file in the box above.
  2. Check the transactions in the preview. Account and category lists in the file are skipped.
  3. Choose the date layout and download the CSV.

Why convert QIF to CSV?

QIF is an old text format from Quicken. Spreadsheets cannot open it as a table, and many newer apps no longer import it. CSV works almost everywhere.

This is useful when you move away from Quicken, share transactions with an accountant, or need old data in a spreadsheet.

Tips for a clean import

  • Quicken writes dates like 1/5’26. The tool reads them as month/day unless the file shows day-first dates.
  • Investment transactions (!Type:Invst) are not converted. Bank, cash and credit card transactions are.

Frequently asked questions

Can I convert a QIF file with several accounts?

Yes. All bank, cash and credit card transactions in the file go into the CSV. The account list itself is skipped.

Does it keep split transactions?

The CSV has one row per transaction with the total amount. Split lines are not listed separately.

Is it free?

Yes. The CSV, QIF, OFX and QBO converters are free with no sign-up and no limit on the number of transactions, because they run on your own computer. Our only paid tool is the PDF statement converter, which needs a server to read PDF files.

Is my bank data uploaded anywhere?

No. The conversion runs inside your browser. Your file is never sent to our server, and we cannot see it. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and the tool still works.
